Generations Resorts Honors the Natural Abundance of the Riviera Maya
Generations Resorts Greenhouse
Working Together With Mother Nature
Generations Resorts cares deeply for the environment and works closely together with Mother Nature in sustaining both the resort and the stunning surrounding environment.
Generations Resorts hydroponic greenhouse spans 70,000 sq. ft., where it grows various tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, chilies, squash, beans, leafy vegetables, and a selection of herbs all utilized in the award-winning Gourmet Inclusive® Experience cuisine prepared within the resort.
Hydroponics is an esteemed method of growing well-balanced plants. Using nutritious mineral solutions without soil, hydroponics allows plants to absorb nutrients with minimal effort compared to those grown in soil, as the roots of the latter must spend energy searching and extracting nutrients, rather than using it for growth and production.
In an effort to reduce CO2 emissions and aid the environment, Generations Resorts has invested $3.2 million dollars in energy-saving air conditioners with electrical converters to eliminate on-off cycles for increased efficiency, to create a longer life of the components, and to reduce power consumption by 50%.
The Riviera Maya sunshine isnt just perfect for sunbathing, its also a powerful source of energy. Thats why Generations Resorts utilizes solar power for all water heating systems.
At Generations Resorts, ozone systems replace all chemicals needed in the laundry room and the filtering and recycling system converts 92% of the water used into drinking water, so that systems work in constant sustainability. In addition, systems are in place that recover up to 98% of the heat produced, so it can be used later in washing cycles.
